About

Pere Codina is a B2B/AI SaaS founder, product strategist, and go-to-market operator with over 20 years of experience building and scaling software enterprises. He is best known for co-founding Kompyte, a competitive intelligence platform acquired by Semrush (NYSE: SEMR), a publicly traded software company. Pere started Kompyte in Barcelona and later moved the company to the U.S., participating in 500 Startups (Batch 19) in Silicon Valley and building the business across product, sales, go-to-market, and strategic partnerships. As CEO, he helped position Kompyte in a fast-growing category where strategic value depended not only on revenue, but also on product capability, buyer fit, team, market timing, and the acquirer’s long-term platform strategy.

Pere led the M&A process himself, working closely with counsel and strategic buyers through the transaction. After the acquisition, Pere joined Semrush for over three years, ultimately serving as Head of GTM for Enterprise Competitive Intelligence, giving him first-hand experience on both sides of the founder-to-corporate transition. Today, Pere bridges his technical foundation in Computer Science and AI from UPC Barcelona and UT Austin with modern Al dynamics to build PlayGTM, an AI-native go-to-market company focused on rethinking how sales, marketing, and customer growth functions operate in an AI-first world. He also actively gives back to the ecosystem as an Alumni Founder Coach and Mentor at 500 Global, specializing in helping software founders think through strategic buyer positioning, go-to-market value, AI category narratives, and the emotional realities of selling a founder-led business.
