David Rodnitzky is a pioneering performance marketing entrepreneur and M&A strategist who transformed a one-man consultancy into 3Q Digital, a global powerhouse managing over $2.5B in annual media spend. A true "architect" of the digital advertising era, David didn't just scale an agency, he authored the technical methodologies that define the industry today, including the Alpha-Beta Account Structure and the Lin-Rodnitzky Ratio for quantitative account auditing.
After building 3Q into the go-to partner for data-obsessed brands like Intuit TurboTax, Square, and Uniqlo, David navigated a "full-circle" transaction path that few founders ever experience: selling to a public company, reclaiming the firm in a management buyback, partnering with private equity, and finally merging into the 3,000-person global firm DEPT.
Today, David is a sought-after boutique consultant and host of the Agentic Shift podcast, where he mentors agency owners on scaling operations, mastering unit economics, and preparing for institutional-grade exits. He specializes in helping "technician" founders transition into strategic owners who can successfully navigate complex M&A events. He is also the author of the definitive guide Selling Your Marketing Agency, a roadmap designed to put founders on a level playing field with professional buyers by providing the hindsight and tactical clarity needed to navigate life-changing M&A discussions.
“I help founders build the operational 'grit' that transforms a job into a strategic legacy that commands a premium market valuation.”

After growing 3Q Digital to 500+ employees and $2.5B in media under management, David led the firm through a global merger with the Amsterdam-based DEPT (backed by The Carlyle Group). This transaction created a massive international footprint, doubling the firm’s U.S. presence and integrating 3Q’s performance marketing engine into a 3,000-person digital powerhouse.
In 2019, David partnered with Erie Street Capital and PSP Partners (the family office of Penny Pritzker) to lead a majority recapitalization of 3Q. This institutional partnership was the catalyst that allowed David to transition the agency from "founder-led" to a professionalized management structure, a move that significantly increased EBITDA margins and positioned the firm for its final global exit.
